About the role Reporting to the group CTO, the group head of global infrastructure will be responsible for the delivering and maintaining the infrastructure and communications environments of the group as well as platform software selection and configuration. In this exciting role, the head of global infrastructure will define the group’s infrastructure and platform journey, making decisions around appropriate cloud migration and network virtualisation amongst others. This role is for a seasoned and energetic leader with deep technology management experience as well as strong leadership and stakeholder management expertise. Role Responsibilities: • Define the group’s architecture roadmap, taking into accounts the various functionality, scalability and availability needs of various business units. • Lead internal and external teams in building and running the automated infrastructure platforms required for operations, leveraging DevOps principles, cloud resource, virtualisation and on-premise/dedicated equipment • Manage internal infrastructure, network and end-user device teams and ensure timely operations. • Manage external vendors responsible for providing critical infrastructure and platforms. • Ensure adequate and flexible provisioning of platforms. • Manage end to end across cloud and hosting providers, managing their contracts and adherence to service levels. • Manage backup and disaster recovery operations, ensuring that processes are in place to bring up critical services within the SLAs agreed with clients. • Lead teams in managing large scale production deployments, collaborating with project and dev leaders • Manage team of internal system administrators and DevOps professionals • Own the infrastructure and platforms budget and optimise in alignment with business units and CTO.
